Kendal Murray
She lives and works in Sydney, Australia. She works with natural materials, everyday objects, and figures of little people. Dreaming, Daydreaming, Memories, Nostalgia and collecting are a few of the themes and experiences that have informed her work. She is represented in public and private collections in Australia. She is also represented in private collections in Japan. She has been the recipient of several awards including the Deakin Small Sculpture prize (2015) and the Beowulf Award in the Woollahra Small Sculpture Prize. https://kendalmurray.net/album.php?s=flights-of-fancy Their art work inspired me because she took real life, everyday objects and turned it into an art piece for everyone to enjoy. The piece that caught my eye was the hand bag she turned into a sculpture. It was very cool to see how she turned an object I've seen several times make it look like it wasn't a hand bag anymore, but an art piece.
